Joanna is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR helps trauma survivors reprocess disturbing thoughts and memories, providing profound and stable treatment effects in a short period of time. It ameliorates symptoms of both acute and chronic post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Joanna worked as a Certified Hospice Counselor helping people address their spiritual, social, and emotional needs as their loved ones moved through the end of life transition. She now works to facilitate the recovery process, meeting people where they are in life. She is passionate about helping people move forward in life so that they can recognize and reach their full potential. In addition to EMDR, Joanna utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Existential Therapies.
